Exclusively for children entering Kindergarten in the Fall

Whether you’re looking for summer camp or summer care, our Junior Discovery Day Camp (ages 4 and 5) has it all! It starts with totally cool field trips and includes great learning experiences through our school readiness program. Add in eleven weekly themes chosen from a collection of kid favorite themes like Dinosaur, Fairy Tale, Wild West, Circus, and more.  You’ll have everything you want for your child this summer and beyond.

Summer Field Trips

Extend your “Pre K” child’s learning and play beyond the classroom with amazing field trips to exciting local venues and participate in our weekly enrichment activities (music, creative movement, Spanish, cooking and gymnastics). Your child could:

  • Check out books at the library
  • Learn about all the animals at Two by Two Petting Ranch
  • Picnic in different parks in Chico
  • Visit the Chico Science Museum
  • Have a visitor from RARE Recycling Center
  • Spend the day at Book’s Family Farm
  • Explore Bidwell Park
  • Plant, cultivate and water our on-site garden

School Readiness Program

Prepare your child for school with Parkside’s Kindergarten readiness program. Each day, teachers will provide daily learning experiences in math, science and/or literacy through special educational activities to help keep your child’s mind sharp – all summer long!
